Have Promotional Gifts, Will Travel

Summer is an excellent time to promote your business (no matter what type of business you are in) by investing in travel promotional gifts.  More than fifty percent of adults/families in North America plan to take at least one trip of some type during the months of June, July and August outside of regular business travel.  A significant number of those traveling during the summer of 2009 plan to travel more than once.

One of the biggest advantages that travel promotional gifts have over other types of business giveaways is their potential to reach a wider audience.  Promos that are intended for use on the road and at travel destinations around the country and the world can spread the name of your business much further than handouts that may never leave a customer’s pocket, purse, wallet or home.  It’s possible that promos may travel hundreds or even thousands of miles from where they originated.  This is especially good for businesses that need to reach a broader audience (i.e. websites, charity organizations, etc.)

Travel promotional gifts are also, of course, very practical in terms of their usefulness.  Choosing carefully based on your typical customer demographic/profile helps to ensure that your giveaway will travel when your customers/clients do.

Here are just a few practical and welcome travel gift ideas and suggestions:

* Gifts for road:  Safety on the road is a priority when traveling by car.  Make sure that your customers reach their destinations safely and are prepared for possible emergencies.  Road emergency travel kits are a great way to promote safety as well as your business.  According to the American Red Cross, no car should be without an emergency first aid kit, in case of minor injuries while traveling.

* “Fast” food: Travel mugs and thermoses/flasks make taking soups and drinks on the road easy and spill-free.  Plus, they can be used for the daily commute to work back at home.  For customers traveling to the beach, park or lake, portable coolers make the perfect vacation promo.

* Keep money and important travel documents safe: Items like neck wallets and fanny packs help customers keep their money, passports, credit card and other travel essentials close enough to be both convenient and safe from theft.

* Don’t lose that luggage: Promotional bag tags are a durable, reliable alternative to the flimsy paper ones offered by airlines and hotels.  They’re just perfect for printing your business logo on.

Your business name may reach places that you never imagined once you print it on a promotional travel gift.  Increase the odds that your name will be seen on the road, in the sky and at the hotel or campground by having it printed in two different locations on each item that you purchase for the double the advertising punch.

  1. [...] Travelers have a number of unique needs when it comes to transporting personal items and money that they may not normally encounter during everyday life at home.  Travel security is always an issue, whether traveling internationally or closer to home.  Efficiency and compactness is another travel consideration, especially when travelers are limited in the type and number of bags that they can travel with (such as when flying.)
